"Enjoy the fascinating world of natural dyes in our family-friendly workshop, designed for children and their families."
"Through this relaxing and eco-friendly workshop, discover a fun, simple, sustainable, and economical way to transfer pigments to textiles using natural dyes from plants such as flowers, leaves, and fruit, as well as kitchen and garden waste, to beautifully color silk."
What You'll do:
-
Introduction to Natural Dyes: Kick off the workshop with a energetic introduction to natural dyes. We will utilise colorful charts and storyboards to look at plants, fruits, and flowers that possess the ability to colour fabrics. Additionally, we will show you how to harvest these natural materials safely.
-
Discover Dyes: Previous to the lesson, families are encouraged to gather their own natural coloring materials, such as flowers, leaves, and garden waste. This adds an exhilarating element of a treasure hunt to the experience.
-
Hands-On Dyeing Activity: Each child receives a small piece of fabric (30*30 cm silk) to dye. The course will offer secure and natural materials such as flowers and leaves, instructing participants on simple techniques for transferring colours onto fabric. This interactive method ensures a secure and informative experience for individuals of all age groups.
-
Crafting Together: After learning the dyeing procedures, kids can use their imaginations and creativity to make a simple craft like a handkerchief.
-
Family Dye Project: As a special feature, families can work together on a larger piece of fabric(60*60 cm silk), provided by workshop. We encourage consumers to bring any unused apparel or tiny fabric items that can be dyed, such as silk hair ties and silk tote bags, from their homes for upcycling. This concept of waste utilisation is in line with our company's support to sustainable development.
Please Note:
This activity is perfect for beginners, making it a wonderful alternative for family bonding, birthday celebrations, or just a day out with the kids.
